Hi, I'm Ms. Schmit
I serve as the Viborg-Hurley School Counselor; this being my fifth year as a V-H Cougar. I come from a family of five, and grew up in Sioux Falls where I currently live. My sister, brother-in-law, Godson/nephew, niece, and parents also live in Sioux Falls. In 2010, I earned a Bachelor’s in Mathematics from SDSU. Go Jacks! Then, in 2013, I attained a teaching certificate in Math Education. Then, from 2013-2016, I taught Math at the West Central School District while attending graduate school. In 2016, I earned my School Counseling Master's Degree from USD. This will be my first year in seven that I won't be teaching some math.
In my free time, I enjoy time with family, reading non-fiction books, running, supporting mental health awareness, advocating for others, volunteering at my local church, but I especially love caring for the children in my life. The photo above shows me reading to my Godson and his sister. We were learning about the pains of bullying. Below are some pictures from school along with some of my loved ones, which are not mutually exclusive.
